M. Brooks, Senior ConsultantMr. Brooks is the Principal Investigator for a number of ongoing noise control projects at Brooks Acoustics Corporation. Mr. Brooks' career in acoustics spans over twenty years. His engineered designs, proven through rigorous testing, include pleasing sound environments and noise control solutions for applications ranging from factories and other industrial facilities, to concert halls, offices, schools, churches, recording studios, and aircraft interiors. He has also successfully designed and tested quiet products for major manufacturers, including makers of aircraft and industrial machinery. Early in his career, his design analysis and test work was instrumental in the development of quiet advanced propulsion systems for government and the aircraft industry. Mr. Brooks conducted theoretical and flight test studies for the acoustic and vibration development of aircraft engines and other flight systems, such as aircraft cabin environmental controls and spacecraft hardware. In more recent years, Mr. Brooks has directed his attention toward the noise control issues of the power industry. His contributions to quiet power include noise control for natural gas pipeline compressor stations, gas turbine/steam/electric combined cycle cogeneration facilities and large-scale wind turbines. Mr. Brooks continues to serve as an acoustical consultant to a variety of industries. These engagements include those in the manufacturing, architectural, government, legal, real estate development and musical fields. His experience in building hardware for the "real world" was won as Program Manager of several military production contracts as well as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for both military and commercial flight components.
